iPhone 15: Ultra-Smooth OLED Display and Stunning Image Quality

Technology

We don’t have a definitive reason why Apple would drop the physical connector, but it could be looking for more internal space or wanting to improve water integrity. However, removing the port would mean users have to purchase new adapters and cables.

Apple will likely maintain its Made for iPhone USB-C certification, which limits cables and accessories to the highest speeds and data transfer capabilities.

Smart HDR 4

Apple’s latest iPhone range uses Smart HDR as part of its image-capture technology. The feature automatically takes multiple shots before and after you press the shutter button. Then it combines the best parts of each one to create a high-quality photo.

This process is much faster than using a regular digital camera. The reason is that the Smart HDR feature uses machine learning to adjust lighting, contrast and more. This is made possible by the powerful A12 Bionic chip that powers newer iPhones.

The Smart HDR feature saves both an HDR version and a normal photo. That’s a good thing because you can decide which one you prefer later on. The only bad thing is that each extra copy hogs storage on your iPhone. That’s why it’s important to regularly go through your photos and delete any duplicates you don’t want anymore.

In addition to the iPhone 15’s rumored USB-C port, this year could also see the first iPhone to get the Dynamic Island display tech that has been spotted in leaked CAD renders. This is a display enhancement that uses both an image sensor and depth map from the TrueDepth camera setup to produce richer colors and more detailed shadows. It’s not a must-have feature for every iPhone user, but it will make a lot of people happy.

iCloud Drive

Apple’s cloud service lets you save photos, videos, documents, music, and more. It also keeps them up-to-date across iPhones, iPads, Macs, and even Windows PCs using an application. With iCloud Drive, files are stored safely in a central location that’s automatically backed up and accessible from anywhere with an Internet connection.

You can access and manage your iCloud files via the Files app on iOS or Mac’s Finder or File Explorer. Unlike some competing cloud storage services, iCloud Drive gives you the freedom to use your own folder structure and organize content without being restricted to app-specific defaults.

Moreover, with iCloud Drive and two-way sync enabled, anything you add or change on one device will update across other devices. That means adding a note to your iCloud Calendar on your MacBook will automatically appear in the Calendar app on your iPad. You can also turn off iCloud Backup for specific apps to avoid backing up their data in excess of your available storage.

As of this writing, iCloud offers 5GB of free storage space and has a range of plans starting at 99 cents per month for 50GB up to 2TB. Regardless of which plan you choose, all of your iCloud files are encrypted and protected by Apple’s industry-leading security standards.

Camera Zoom Capabilities

Apple isn’t expected to add a periscope camera zoom capability to its iPhone 15 series this year. Instead, the feature is likely to appear on the iPhone Pro Max in 2023. This will let the phone boast a higher optical zoom capacity than the 3x offered by the regular iPhone 15 Pro and 16.

Periscope lenses use prisms to bend light so that it can reach multiple internal cameras at different mau iphone 15 angles. This allows the camera to achieve a much longer optical zoom without losing image quality. Samsung and other Android device manufacturers have already introduced periscope camera lens capabilities in their flagship phones.

The upcoming 6.7-inch iPhone Pro Max is expected to offer 5-6x optical zoom thanks to the new periscope camera lens. The new technology should also enable the camera to capture images and video at a lower noise level.

Apple typically differentiates its Pro models by camera features. So, it makes sense that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will be the first model to get a periscope camera upgrade. However, the company wouldn’t be out of line to offer this feature on a smaller iPhone Pro model next year. Maybe this could be the next “One More Thing” that Tim Cook and his team will announce?
